Day 01: Windhoek
After you have arrived in Windhoek, you pick up your rental car. After a short drive you will reach your first accommodation, the stylish Hotel Heinitzburg.
Arrive in peace and quiet before you choose a nice restaurant for your dinner. We can recommend the gourmet restaurant Leo's at the Castle, which belongs to the hotel. Besides local specialities and delicious wines you can enjoy a view over the whole city from the terrace. Here you can relax in the evening and look forward to your forthcoming journey.
Overnight stay at Hotel Heinitzburg.
Day 02: From Windhoek to Okonjima
After breakfast, you start north. Around noon, you reach the Okonjima Bush Camp.
Your private suite is located a little bit off the beaten track, here you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature undisturbed. 2 en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and a private pool with views of the impressive Omboroko Mountains await you there. Your bed can be pushed out onto the terrace, who doesn't dream of a night under the Namibian starry sky?
After lunch, you can rest for a while, at 3 pm the program starts - what do you feel like doing? A tour to the big cat rehabilitation centre, a search for traces of cheetahs and leopards, bird watching or hiking? The choice of possibilities is huge!
Overnight stay in the Okonjima Bush Suite.
Day 03 & 04: From Okonjima to Etosha National Park
Your day starts early in the morning with an activity followed by breakfast. Then you will continue to Onguma Private Reserve, where you will reach Onguma The Fort in the afternoon. The comfortable accommodation offers fantastic views of the magnificent nature from everywhere.
Look forward to exciting days in the private reserve and Etosha National Park. Game drives and guided hikes await you, have your camera ready when wild animals cross your path.
Overnight stay at Onguma The Fort.
Day 05: From Etosha National Park to Okaukuejo
Today's drive takes you through Etosha National Park to Ongava Lodge. Be alert, which animals can you discover during the drive?
Around noon, you reach the beautiful Ongava Lodge. Situated slightly on the slope and built on a high point, you have an excellent view of nature from here. Relax a little before going on an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Especially lions and rhinos can be seen here.
Overnight at Ongava Lodge.
Day 06 & 07: From Okaukuejo to Damaraland
After breakfast, you start southwest towards Damaraland. Your next accommodation, Mowani Mountain Camp, is located in the Twyfelfontein Conservation Area. The luxurious tents have been unobtrusively adapted to the landscape and create a mystical atmosphere. The tents are surrounded by quarries and there are swimming pools in the middle of the rocks.
Look forward to a visit to the Unesco World Cultural Site Twyfelfontein, where you will discover millennia-old rock engravings and rock formations. On a trip through the dry riverbed you will go in search of the rare desert elephants, which can only be found there.
Overnight at Mowani Mountain Camp.
Day 08: From Damaraland to Swakopmund
Unfortunately, you have to say goodbye to the fantastic accommodation. You will continue to the coastal town of Swakopmund and have a delicious lunch on the way.
You will spend the next two days in a modern hotel on the Atlantic coast. The popular holiday resort of Swakopmund not only radiates the charm of bygone times through its buildings, but also has a lot to offer.
Relax the days on the beautiful sandy beach, stroll through the streets or go shopping.
That sounds too boring to you? Swakopmund offers many exciting activities. Give full throttle when you drive through the desert on a quad bike and get to know its animal inhabitants on the side.
Or explore the Walvis Bay Lagoon by kayak, with a little luck you might even get to see dolphins and seals up close. Whatever you feel like, Swakopmund is definitely worth a visit.
Overnight at the Strand Hotel.
Day 09: From Swakopmund to Sossusvlei
After breakfast and opportunities to explore the city or activities on the beach, you must say goodbye to your rental car. Afterwards you will board a small plane, which will take you to the NamibRand Private Reserve. The view of the Namib Desert from above is uniquely beautiful!
Once arrived, you can relax at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge before you go on your first journey of discovery through the dunes. In the evening you can choose a fine wine in the wine cellar before the excellent chef shows his class with African dishes.
Overnight stay at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge.
Day 10, 11 & 12: From Sossusvlei to Wolwedans
Your day starts with the sunrise to the dunes of Sossusvlei. The ascent to the 325 m high shifting sand dunes, probably the highest in the world, is difficult but at the same time of indescribable beauty. Just in time before the midday heat you will be back at the camp, from where you will be transferred to the next accommodation within the NamibRand Nature Reserve.
In the Mountain View Suite you will spend the next three days and nights experiencing the special flair of Wolwedans Dunes Lodge and the private NamibRand Nature Reserve. You will never get tired of the fascinating landscapes you will pass during the panoramic drives in the open jeep. Soft forms of the sand landscapes alternate with rough rock formations, the sun does its part to capture constantly changing visual impressions. Again and again you wonder how under the conditions of the desert climate all the animals that cross your path survive. It is also surprising to discover in this landscape numerous testimonies of earlier settlements by bushmen. On request, the trips on Wolwedans can be arranged as full day excursions, during which a picnic will be taken at prominent spots such as the "Hard Rock Coffee" in due course.
Overnight stay in the Wolwedans Mountain View Suite.
Day 13: From Wolwedans to Windhoek
For the last time you wake up in the desert dawn and breathe in the impressions of the landscape and nature from your bed. In addition, you already enjoy the first early morning tea or coffee.
After a leisurely breakfast you will be taken to the runway and say goodbye to Wolwedans. Your return flight takes you to Eros Airport in Windhoek. In time for your connecting flight your transfer to Windhoek International Airport will take place. There you will board the plane with a luggage full of wonderful memories.
