Desert Homestead

The Desert Homestead has been skillfully designed to incorporate all the features of a lodge that encapsulates the essence of the desert environment it depicts. Conveniently situated on pristine and privately owned land, guests are only 31.5km from the Sesriem Canyon and in close proximity to Sossuvlei, home to the highest dunes in the world.

The impressive Naukluft Mountain mass stretches vertically, flat like an enormous table top across the eastern horizon, forming a migration corridor between the Pro-Namib and desert for wildlife such as oryx, springbok, ostrich and predators like leopard, brown hyena and common hyena in search of prey and greener pastures. Accommodation: The 20 thatched chalets ensure our guests a more comfortable stay whilst absorbing the harsh paradise of the ancient Namib Desert. All the chalets look across a wide landscape dotted with sparse vegetation, mountains and rocky outcrops. There are 16 twins (beds can be moved together) and 4 x double chalets. En-suit facilities in each room include a shower, toilet and hand basis complimented with all the necessary amenities you would require during your stay. Mosquito nets are fitted over all the beds, ensuring you a peaceful sleep. Services:
  • Meals can be savored in our romantic indoor dining room complete with candles and fireplace, or alternatively on our traditional wide farm verandah, with lanterns and stars adding to the ambience.
  • Easy access with a normal sedan vehicle is possible, we also have a well maintained airstrip situated conveniently close to the lodge - Airstrip transfers are free of charge to our fly-in guests.
  • We also offer road transfers on request to various other lodges in the vicinity and further destinations such as Windhoek and Swakopmund.
  • The lodge has a communal lounge area with DSTV channels in case you want to catch that big game. Cell Phone reception is also available at the lodge but, wireless Internet is not available.
